\Ever since I was a little kid, I've loved music to my very core. I used to sing whatever song came on the radio. Both of my parents also loved music as well, more than I could have ever imagined. As time went on in my youth, they built up this beautiful 9.1 surround sound system in our living room with some of the highest quality speakers. Growing up, I've known what good sound is and it's made me appreciate music even more.
In the seventh grade, our english class was given a unique assignment to write a poem, but we also had the choice to write a song. This was the first spark in my musical creativity. So I went home and wrote a song with two small verses and a chorus about life in middle school. It had no music behind it or anything other than some lyrics, yet I was still really proud. Looking back on it, there was nothing impressive about it. It barely rhymed, its flow was all over the place, and only half of the lyrics actually make sense. But even now, I'm still thankful that I wrote that song, because It put me on a path of music that I never would have assumed I could have taken. My parents also recognized that I loved music at this point, and for Christmas they bought me my first Yamaha Midi Keyboard which I still have to that day.
So after my english assignment experience and getting a keyboard, I started writing musical scores in musescore. Some things I was proud of, and some things were just total duds. But, through my score writing, I started to realize that lyrics aren't always that easy and that many pieces of music were written with the intent of never having lyrics. This realization was special for me, even though I write beats today with the intention of other people putting lyrics on them, this realization directed me towards my own writing style.
Time skip to Freshman Year of high school. I started taking this class called Digital Music design. The class was very oriented towards Garageband music design, so it was nearing time that I parted from musescore and started heading towards and synthetic modern music direction. The class taught me many things about the workflow of Garageband and how to use its core features. This new software really interested me because it was a whole new layout compared to musescore. The work flow was less sheet music and way more midi key rolls. I was fascinated to say the least. So fascinated that I ended up learning everything the class was going to teach and way more by the first quarter of school. My teacher was very impressed and at that point just let me do my own thing. I created many projects that didn't sound good at all, but they helped me shape my workflow and style. Also, as I was starting to make more music, I started noticing patterns in music on the radio and my brain was starting to dissect all of the different pieces.
Then Christmas 2018 came around. My parents were starting to notice my major investment in music and so they decided they were going to by me a pair of headphones. They bought me the Skullcandy Crusher 360's. For those of you who know what these are, you'll understand why thats impressive. These headphones had physical drivers in both cuffs that shook the headphones and created bass vibrations that imitate real bass wavelengths and they were the coolest things in the world to me. We ended up upgrading them for the noise cancelling version later on when they came out. Because of this new feature where I was actually able to write music and hear the bass, it then redirected my music making process again. I was then a bass head and did my best to incorporate it into almost every song that I made. When I started doing this, it really started to round out my sound. On Christmas 2019, my parents got mea nice yeti-caster microphone for recording which I really have come to love. I decided that with my gear that I had obtained, I was going to make a beat and upload it to Distrokid. I set the release date for my birthday and boom, I had a single Then a couple weeks after my birthday in march, my parents got me Logic Pro X. There are tons upon tons of feature upgrades that make music cleaner and give you music more options and flexibility. Using this software, I decided to make two more beats that I would upload and use the song I uploaded in early march to make a mini 3 beat EP.
So then that leads me to where I am now. A College student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Recording Arts at Fullsail University in Winter Park, Florida. Thank you for taking the time to go through my life story and I hope I've inspired you in some way to jump into music as well.
